What We Do

Counselling

Sarah, Terry and their team can provide a wide variety of therapeutic interventions on an individual and group basis. These can be provided in-person and online.

Integrative Counselling

This approach draws on different theories and techniques that the counsellor brings together to form an integrated way of working. This approach is unique to each different counsellor reflecting what is meaningful and valuable to them and the individual clients they work with. This can also be done outdoors

Humanistic Counselling

This encourages people to think about their feelings, thoughts and actions in the present rather than delving into the past. The emphasis is on self-development and achieving your highest potential rather than on problematic behavior.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

This aims to help you change the way you think (cognitive) and what you do (behaviour) which will help you feel better now. Rather than looking at past causes, it focuses on techniques and tools for dealing with current problems.

Wild Therapy

This approach comes from a place of viewing ourselves as part of a wider ecosystem, deeply connected to and dependent on all other elements in our universe and all these elements mutually respond to each other. There is an emphasis on working with how things are rather than pushing against or controlling our world and on spontaneity and working outdoors in and with the natural environment.

Animal Assisted Therapy

Our connection to the animals around us has been part of our evolution for thousands of years, and for very many people this connection is an integral part of what supports their good mental health. Sarah and her dog Stanley are fully trained and have seven years of experience in this field working both indoors and out to enhance the approaches above with this amazing canine connection.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy, proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences. Unlike other therapies it does not always involve extensive discussion about the presenting issue but can effectively resolve difficult experiences and allow the brain to resume its natural healing process. This often, but not always, can be done in less sessions than other ways of working and can also be combined with Integrative, Wild and Animal Assisted therapy working outdoors.
